Product Description

Primary Care Psychiatry

If you are seeking a first rate guide to the EPDS then this is an excellent book.

Product Description

The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) was designed by the authors as a simple means of screening for postnatal depression in health care settings. It can also be used by researchers investigating the factors that influence the emotional well-being of new mothers and their families. This text guides health professionals and researchers through the practical uses of the EPDS and explores cross-cultural issues, background information on postnatal depression and implications for health service management.

Format:Paperback
As a Maternity Nurse working in the homes of private families, I 'dipped' into this book to look for the information I required on recognising the signs and symptoms of PND, some basic medical information on the reasons for PND, how it affects mums psychologically, how mums are assessed, all which then enabled me to think about ways of supporting mums with PND and their families. However, I wasn't that interested in finding out the history of this form of assessment!
