Buswell really has excelled in providing the reader with a) a dissertation on easy to use techniques to combat performance anxiety, b) an academic basis for further reading (the author refers to several other writers and practitioners) and c) a clear a concise layout; the use of double spacing and arial (?) font really does make this book very user-friendly and easy to follow.
A performing musician myself for the last 10 years, I have often suffered from severe performance anxiety which unfortunately has occasionally led to poor delivery in the formal performance setting. Buswell explains thoroughly and convincingly exactly how to rid these emotions, both good and bad, which so often develop into bad breathing, sweating, tingling, shaking hands/legs etc, through a series of activities such as self hypnosis, visualisation and NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).
There may be better books out there, but this really is worth buying if you're suffering from any of the above!
