perfect in ten - STRETCH,

This review is from: Perfect in Ten: Stretch [DVD] [2007] [NTSC] (DVD)
Stretching - its only worthwhile if you do it properly, plus I'm hopeless at remembering a routine. This DVD is exactly what I have been searching for. Its split into 5 x 10 minute sections so its ideal if you just want to stretch out a specific part of your body or if you literally only have 10 minutes to spare. The backdrop to the DVD is straightforward - there are no gimmicks. All you need is yourself, a wall and a chair, although I would recommend that you use a floor mat too to avoid slipping. Annette Fletcher is easy to follow and more importantly - easy to listen to. I would strongly recommend this DVD to anyone who needs prompting on how to stretch effectively and safely.

Excellent stretch DVD,

I bought this as I've been having problems with tight muscles from the various exercise classes that I do. I find it excellent. I usually do 3 of the 5 sections as that suits me. One 10-minute session doesn't seem quite enough, but thats personal preference.
The 'Sedentary lifestyle' section is very useful as it shows you stretches you can do at your desk while at work. I also liked the 'Intense stretch' as that includes more yoga-type stretches. I haven't tried the 'Sports stretches' yet but I expect they'll be good too. You don't need much space at all for this DVD which is even better. So long as you can put down a mat, have a chair and access to a bit of wall, thats all you need.

slow, old fashioned and disappointing,

This review is from: Perfect in Ten: Stretch [DVD] [2007] [NTSC] (DVD)
I bought this dvd on the recommendation of other reviewers and am very disappointed. There are five 10 minute stretches, but there's no gap between them - they run one straight after the other, so in order to do one 10 minute stretch routine, the viewer has to either keep an eye on the clock or watch the screen closely. The only indication that the next 10 minute stretch sequence has started is the change of the wording at the top of the screen. If, for example, you wanted to do stretch routine number 2, and selected that on the menu, it would start apparently half way through a complicated stretch that involves the viewer having to lie down very quickly to get into the right position to start.
The stretches are very ordinary, not particularly interesting, and certainly not as rigorous as other stretch routines I've seen. There is a slightly old-fashioned and 'cheap' feel to the whole presentation and I will be selling this dvd on and looking for a better one.
