Just what the teacher ordered 17 May 2010
By Charlie Mac - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
I purchased this along with two similar books and I must say that this one comes the closest to being what I needed and was looking for. After so long, you just get SO tired of trying to re-write the same thing in a tactful manner and this book has some helpful suggestions. It also addresses more than two or three areas - It has been the ONLY title I have found that offers suggestions for Fine Art Curriculum comments. I can't say that it was perfect - but it comes real close.

Respects Students, But Denigrates Parents 5 April 2012
By AlyV. - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book is great at suggesting phrases that address student progress and behavior. The section for how to deal with parents is potentially detrimental. There is no one who knows a student better than a parent. A teacher may be informed about the student's progress in his or her class, but that is only one part of the picture. The author's suggestions for dealing with concerned parents is dismissive and condescending. As a mother and a teacher, I have learned the importance of building a partnership with parents. This book is fine if you are a rigid teacher with a cookie-cutter mentally just trying to make it through the year. No teacher has all the answers as learning is a lifelong pursuit. If you are a teacher who recognizes and values the differences each student presents, you do not need this book. Listen to your heart, your students, and their parents.
