I ordered this album after reading Jan Omidahl's "Swing of things" and was awre that it was in the pipeline. I have always liked Mags, always the athletic joker of a-ha but this appeared to mask an insecurity about himself and his role in the band in the early days. He has become much more confident through his painting and sideline projects. I wasn't expecting too much from the album so I was absolutely stunned to report that it stands solidly with the best of the a-ha albums. The songs are quietly introspective accoustic based affairs and Guy Berryman and Will Champion(of Coldplay) help out on some of the tracks. Magne's voice though without Morten Harket's range is somehow more beguiling and less like a strangled chicken! The melodies and arrangements are spot on and the album benefits from not being over-produced. This album sounds more like Coldplay or "Bends" era Radiohead than a-ha. It is not formulaic and there are no key changes. Stand out tracks "all the time", "kryptonite""little angels" and the therapeutic message to Paul Waaktaar "2CU shine" There are no duff tracks on the album which is like food for the soul. Hopefully "analogue" will benefit from plenty of Magne's influence

after years of being a-ha member, magne f at last released his own solo work , 'past perfect future tense' album. from the first time I heard it till now the songs always sounds in the head. you can feel the focus on lyrics in this album which seems to be very personal and so close. all album is calm like waving sea, but very strong in expression. it has really great songs like 'past perfect future tense', '2CUshine', 'noone gets me but you','envelope me' and genius touch of 'nothing here to hold you'. all they go from slow deep till energetic moods.magne f - master of words, melodies, guitar and piano dance.....

Stunning! 4 Dec 2006
Format:Audio CD
This is a stunning album. For any a-ha fans out there wondering whether its worth getting - its a definite yes. Its up there with the best a-ha albums. Its only let down by Magne's voice - which is mediocre at best - but then when you're being compared to Morten you are always going to come off second best!

underrated masterpiece
Whilst I don't think that this album has any immediately chart friendly singles like say Analogue or Cosy Prisons, I much preferred it to last year's a-ha relase. Read more

Best of 2005
If you like your music to have a bit emotion, than you will love this album. Not one one weak track and in my opinion, stronger in depth than the last couple of A-HA efforts. Read more
