Product Description

Chicken tikka massala, cheese & onion crisps, labradors, Terry Wogan, peppermint gum. All of them the nation's favourite and it's easy to see why. Peppermint makes great gum because it's got a good amount of refreshing menthol in it and, if you're using a quality variety, can also have a great rounded floral taste. We use a fine English peppermint from Hampshire which we mix with our natural chicle gum and no aspartame or other artificials. What's more, the gum is sweetened only with tooth-friendly xylitol and accredited by the British Dental Health Foundation for being good for teeth (being proven to help reduce the risk of plaque and tooth decay). Hurrah.

I wanted to start chewing gum due to my reading that it helps with mental alertness amongst other things. Whether that is true or not is irrelevant to this review.

I was glad to find a chewing gum which didn't have aspartame and other crap in it. I refuse to eat anything that has these artificial sweeteners. If you wonder what the issue is, do some research on aspartame. We shouldn't be consuming it.

This gum comes in a nice little box which is the point of sale box you would see in a shop. The individual boxes are dinky and there are little wrapping papers (a book of ten papers) with interesting facts and comments about chewing gum. It's a nice, thoughtful touch.

The chewing gum experience: once you pop a pellet, the flavour is pretty intense. I like it. The flavour lasts an acceptable amount of time. Once the flavour is gone, there is an aftertaste as the other reviewer mentioned. It is not particularly pleasant. It's not particularly strong either, and I suspect it may simply be the taste of the natural gum base. It's not so intrusive that you would dispose of the gum merely because of this slight taste. I also found that once the gum got to full chewing temperature, the texture was a little too easy for me, and I found myself adding a third pellet to harden things up, as well as provide a fresh burst of flavour. I must do a comparison with the leading regular brand to see how it actually compares and update this review once I've done that. Watch this space.

So do I recommend this product? Yes. If you want chewing gum which won't harm your health, then this is it.

I love this new gum. It's great that it's natural and not an over powering taste. I can't stand gums like extra now that taste so artifical, I always have a pack in my handbag. Plus I love that it has the papers to put it in once you've finished.

Getting the obvious thing over with - this chewing gum will make a bigger dent in your wallet than other gums and is relatively dear.

However, for that price you get chewing gum without any horrid plasticizers, aspartame and goodness knows what else synthetic 'gum' manufacturers put in their chewing gums.

When you first chew on it, you get a strong flavour burst of peppermint which seems to subside quickly but the gum still retains a subtle taste of mint for a good half hour. Perhaps due to the chicle sap, it remains a soft texture whilst chewing which means no horrible aftertaste and no weird plasticky texture at the end.

The chewing gum comes in small cardboard boxes with a small booklet of 'papers' (with random facts about chewing gum) to wrap used gum in. Overall, lovely gum, bit expensive but if you're concerned about the gunk in conventional gum then well worth the price.

A bit different than ordinary chewing gum but we are using it as a teeth cleaning aid so a bit of compromise although I find it fine to chew, Hopefully it is improving our dental health as that is why I bought it!

I bought a few packs of this when they had just come out - tasted great and it makes you realise how plasticy other gum is (especially when it's lots all flavour). Got some more last week and taste lasts longer than before. The packs are really cool and handy to have the papers to dispose of the gum.

I've been looking for natural chewing gum and finally I found it. Great taste, can look a bit pricy, BUT DON'T FORGET the fact that 75% of ingredients used in all chewing gums go directly to your body, so this one won't harm you as it's all natural!!!

Love this. I dont think its any less flavorsome than the well known brands after a while. Initially its very minty, but it's not that that fades fast, its because its so minty at first it seems to fade, if you see what I mean. Great to chew.
