Product Description

Review

"This thorough survey, ...with the masterful touch... provides a current overview of a plant that revolutionized the world's cuisine within a few years of its discovery by Columbus in 1492. The authors summarize very nearly everything one needs to know about this fascinating genus, and the book's extensive references point the reader to state-of-the-art information on all aspects of Capsicums." -- Current Books on Gardening and Botany, June 2000

Product Description

Although thought of as a minor crop, peppers are a major world commodity due to their versatility. They are used not only in food products, but also in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics and as such are rapidly gaining in interest throughout the world. Aimed at advanced students and growers, this book provides comprehensive coverage of all aspects of the plant's history, genetics, composition, production and related diseases and pests.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good book, 26 Mar 2008

This review is from: Peppers: Vegetable and Spice Capsicums (Crop Production Science in Horticulture) (Paperback)
I developed an obsession with growing peppers over the last year and I have found this book to be very informative on this subject. This book is written for scientists but I believe anyone should be able to follow it pretty closely.

4.0 out of 5 stars College level but useful, 26 Aug 2009
By Robert D. Cook "Bob Cook" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Peppers: Vegetable and Spice Capsicums (Crop Production Science in Horticulture) (Paperback)
Dr. Bosland is the expert and this book is very helpful. Not just a bunch of research but practical information on peppers...in depth. Good illustrations and photos. It will help make any pepper grower better. (Explains the difference between chili and chile!)
