Like another reviewer, the Peppa Pig I bought for my daughter's birthday did not work and neither did the second one. As the shops nearby had run out of stock, my husband 'operated' on said Peppa and found the battery compartment was not attached to the toy. One soldering iron later, Peppa was working - but please do not do that yourself, or you will be unable to return the toy for exchange or refund.
Peppa does now jump and say a few things, including counting. She does not fall over easily, although the toy works better on a hard surface, rather than carpet. However, the toy is not cuddly, the play value is limited and my daughter lost interest in it fairly quickly. Nice novelty toy, but I do hope that my experience of two defective ones does not mean there will be a lot of disappointed children on Christmas morning. The toy comes without a 'try me' feature, so it is not until you open the toy and install the batteries that you can tell whether it works or not.
