Adrian Wilkinson is Director of the Centre for Work, Organisation and Wellbeing at Griffith University, Australia. He holds Visiting Professorships at Loughborough University, Sheffield University and the University of Durham, and is an Academic Fellow at the Judge Institute, University of Cambridge.

Adrian has authored/co-authored/edited twenty books and over one hundred and forty articles in academic journals. Format: Paperback
Having used this book in conjunction with Bratton and Gold's "Human Resource Management: Theory and Practice" I feel that this is the stronger of the two.
As it is intended as an aid to those studying for the professional CIPD exam its practical application is paramount and it does not disappoint in this respect.
HR is of little value without application to the real world, a lesson many textbooks would be advised to learn, and Marchington clearly understands this.
The only downside is that the book is a little dry in places and as such is not instantly accessible for many students.
