Invoking the reggae sounds that brought Boy George to the forefront of music in the 1980s, Pentonville Blues is an intensely personal track, written following the singers time spent in prison.
After receiving rave reviews for their debut full length Bring Back Love, Glide & Swerve have produced a supremely rich track which perfectly showcases their unique ability to combine elevating melodies with universal accessibility.
Glide & Swerve is made up by Ivan Clarke and Simon Glantz who first formed in Hong Kong, before taking their sound back to the UK to record their highly regarded debut album. With a wealth of musical experience behind them, the duo have always kept one foot in the dance music scene, DJing across Europe and remixing for labels including Pacha and Seamless, and one foot firmly in the future by creating musically diverse, yet consistently uplifting material.

Worthy comeback,

"Pentonville blues" deserves to get a lot of attention and stir up some interest for this old eighties icon. It probably won't happen - but this should not overshadow the fact that this is a brilliant single from one of the best and most well-known voices of the eighties (and what a voice). The touch of reggae has been a part of his career for years and it helps to underline the poignant and emotional lyrics. The single is basically not a comeback since Boy George has released a number of singles the last few years - but this is by far the best and shows that "good old George" still got it - and still can create vibrant and brilliant music. The mixes are quite good - but the "original sin" and the "freedom" mix is by far the two best mixes. The "Freedom mix" is just such a "happy" version. Wonderful closing of the single. Pentonville Blues you will like - even though you are not a fan. Well done!! "Pentonville Blues" is a hit - even though it might not turn out to be

Great that there is a CD Single avaibale as I dont like Download Stuff.The CD comes with a little picture and information folder booklet. The Mixes are great. Best Version is the original one with the awesome guys of Glide & Swerve. And Boy George contributes awesome flawless Soulful Vocals. Get the Glide & Swerve Album - it s awesome as well.

Excellent CD single ! Everything is just right; great tracks / remixes and equally excellent packaging. You don't see CD singles like these anymore. I too prefer 'the real thing' instead on an (official) download and these guys show how it's done right. The fact that this CD sold out this quickly is proof enough that people still want items like these. And while you're on it, get Boy George's new CD "Ordinary Alien" as well. You will be pleasantly surprised !
