Amazon Verified Purchase
Pentax or Samsung versions. I have a Pentax version on a Samsung GX20. Mine is very sharp wide open. It equals or betters the Canon 17-40 f4 but at less than half the price. Images are undistorted with good colour. CA is a rare event and the bokeh is buttery. It has full time manual focus too. One of the best value lenses around - for any mount. As with any lens, you might need to try a few copies to get a good one. Sadly, lens manufacturers seem uninterested in decent QC.

It's my second experience with this lens! It's 16 mm extreme focal is something extra! And general optical quality is well above the others... For a small Pentax Kr, this lens is a real gift! We can find 45mm tele a little short but, in most situations, is lartgely enough. I only hope Pentax give us a new SDM version, f:3.0, and in a small shape (is it possible to reach something as a pancake, Limited edition zoom?

This is a fantastic lens. I use mine with my K7, and it makes a brilliant standard lens. The focusing is fast and the results are razor sharp. All in all a great lens for a tad under £230.00.Pentax smc DA 16-45mm f/4 ED AL
