High-quality ED glass provides excellent sharpness and brilliant colours. The lens is equipped with the PENTAX "Quick Shift Focus System" that permits instant manual focusing while in the auto-focus mode.

Hiermit gelingen sensationelle Weitwinkelaufnahmen von Landschaft, Architektur und vielen anderen Motiven. Dieses Objektiv verfügt über das Quick-Shift-Focus-System, welches manuelle Fokussierung im AF-Betrieb erlaubt, sowie eine Geradführung der Frontlinse.

Pentax are good at designing prime lenses and this is no exception.
Bought to have a far wide end lens - especially for landscape. It has proven to be much more versatile than just that. Used it in just about every situation apart from bird watching.
Pros: Very little noticable fringing even at the edges, very little distortion even though it is very wide angle, amazing at interior shots, architecture or portrait/group shots with extreme perspective.
Cons: Wish it was 12mm, slightly soft at f2.8 - great at f5.6 and above, would be perfect with an SDM focus.

You can feel the quality build of this lens when you hold it in your hands. Excellent sharpness with great contrast. Mild distortion and vignetting which are unavoidable in such a wide angle lens. See example photos.
