Product Description
Fire the shutter on your Optio camera from up to 4,5m away, depending on model. Select either instant release, or release with a 3 second delay, to give time to put away the remote so it does not appear in the final picture.

Received today - very happy.
Description doesn't do the justice - it works very well with my Pentax Optio 750Z too. Also note that remote control is tiny - about 2 inches long and very thin.
Useful to take pictures from the stand - no need to touch the camera - shots are more steady.

Works with optio S6. This is a very usefull peice of kit. I was finding it hard to take good pictures of jewellery my wife wanted to sell. Even though i had the camera on a tripod, i found it hard to keep it steady when the shutter was relesed especially in macro mode. The zoom also means you dont have to touch the camera at all. Being very small in size 53mm(l)x 21mm(w)x 6mm(d) fits easily in camera case. This is a must for your camera.

Cool little remote. Works with my old S4 and my new S7.
On the up side it is tiny so there is no excuse for not carrying it with you in your camera pouch. Using it discretely is not a problem either, especially if you use the 3 second delay remote function on your camera which gives you plenty of time to hide it in the palm of your hand and pose naturally.
The main button is the shutter release and the smaller toggles through the optical zoom range, which is fine if you can see the screen.
The remote allows for easier use of a tripod and great low light shots when you need it. I have used mine to set up the camera for wildlife shots so that I can trigger the camera from a distance (it works up to 30m), to take low light photo's using a tripod and to take multiple shots with a range of lighting conditions. Joined with a tripod the remote allows great long exposure shots without risking any camera shake as you hit the shutter release.
On the downside the battery has to be replaced by Pentax, unless you are willing to take the remote apart with a screwdriver, but if the suggested 50,000+ shots before the battery runs out is correct you may well be buying a new camera first.
Overall a great addition to your Pentax kit and a useful tool for getting even better shots.

Works for Optio SVi; tiny; light and does what it says.
This remote is tiny! About 5.3cm x 2.1cm x 0.6cm! This means you can fit it in your camera case easily. It is so light. Read more
