Being a long time Pentax user, as well as a Nikon and Canon user, I can easily say that this is Pentax's best SLR to date.

Like all Pentaxes over the years, it has been designed around what the user wants to do rather than just adding more 80-20 features that most people never use but look good on the brochure.

It looks a bit odd because of one of its best features - all the controls are exactly where you need them. The excellent magnesium alloy body is light and oh so strong! The viewfinder is modern Pentax fare but shifted to the bottom for even better visibility.

The screen is bright and clear, especially with Pentax's magnificent 50 f/1.4.

Because it's a Pentax, you can put on any lens from the last three decades.

This may not have all the features on a Dynax 7 or 9 or a Nikon F5 but it has everything even the most advanced amateur could wish for and it handles like a dream.

A worthy successor to the mighty LX.
