Offering different magnifications ranging from eight to 12.5 times, the DCF SP-series models are housed in a nitrogen-filled magnesium-alloy waterproof body (JIS Class 6) and protected with a full-body rubber housing. They deliver exceptional image quality, thanks to an inner-focus optical design incorporating hybrid aspherical eyepiece lenses, high-resolution phase-coated roof prisms, hydrophobic coating on objective and eyepiece lenses, and multi-coated optical elements. Their lightweight design and long eye relief allow for fatigue-free viewing, even during extended observations. They also come equipped with such user-friendly features as an extra-short minimum focusing distance, a diopter adjuster with lock mechanism, and helicoid-type eyepiece rings with four click stops.

I've tried these binos for several months now and can't speak too highly of them. They handle beautifully and have a large eye relief. Lens caps are attached to the body and hang down unobtrusively while in use. The eyepiece cover is the usual all-in-one unit but works quite well; attached to the strap it is an easy matter to lift off and hangs out of the eyeline while in use. The image is very clear and bright and the focus wheel moves with reassurance and no backlash. They focus down to about 8 feet! The unit uses a screw-in/out eye stops with discrete click positions. I wear glasses and find that I need to use the second stop position out even then, so the eye relief really is large.

My Swift Osprey binoculars are over 20 years old and were in need of replacement. Having researched the internet thouroughly, and reading many reviews, I decided to go for the Pentax DCF SPs. I found them advertised, through Amazon, at a very low price and went for it. These binoculars are superb. They seem to make colours brighter than reality, even in poor light, .....important for bird watching. I would say, at the price and for colour and clarity, they compare favourably with my Swarovski scope.....enough said!

Excellent product, value for money.
Amazon in this case not doing enough for the customer, these are £50 cheaper at Microglobe who's service is as good.
