The UCF line-up continues on another high point with this classic dual-axis and inverted porro prism design, which makes it compact and light weight. We also continue to use aspherical lens elements for edge-to-edge sharpness, BaK4 prisms and fully multicoated lenses. But we didn’t stop there … we also make it fully waterproof to JIS Class 6 standards. Just so you can tell the difference between other members of the family we gave the body deep, blue tinted armouring. The compact, water-resistant housing of the UCF WP series are JIS class 6 certified. Not only are they durable but they’re also rubberised, so they’ll prove the ideal of vacation and trip companion, even in bad weather. Multi-coated lens elements, inner focusing and a very short minimum focus distance attest to the perfectly co-ordinated optical characteristics. Additionally, the UCF WP binoculars have a built-in tripod socket.
Inverted porro prism design
This can be recognised with the eyepiece positioned off-line from the objective lens. The advantages of this design are that it is less expensive and has good optical quality.
Aspherical lens elements providing edge-to-edge sharpness
Edge-to-edge sharpness is a vital element to comfortable viewing. To achieve this we utilise aspherical lens elements in our eyepieces. This is a specially-shaped lens design that reduces aberration to a minimum.
Inner Focusing
The Inner Focus function is critical to low-maintenance and long life guarantee. Exposure to airborne particles and moisture is avoided, thereby ensuring that no outside influences can penetrate the binocular housing and disrupt functionality.
High Quality BaK4 prism to enhance transmission and resolution
A prism is a complex optical element necessary to correct the image the right way up and reduce overall length of the binocular. In a prism, light travels through complicated angles and so the quality of the prism glass used is of significant importance. PENTAX uses exclusively high-index BaK4 prisms, made of very pure Barium glass.
Deep, blue-tinted rubber armouring for maximum protection and grip
The UCF WP Series has well-designed water resistant construction, as well as the fine rubber coating employed to its entire body for superb impact resistance, making it an ideal viewing tool for any weather conditions (JIS Class 6 equivalent, water resistant up to depth of 1 metre).

The Pentax 8x25 UCF WP Porro Prism Binoculars are everything I wanted and more. Lightweight and easy to use. Perfect for people with or without spectacles as they are adjustable. Great for both far distances and fairly close up. I would recommend them to anyone.

Kikkerten er lille og ligger godt i hånden. Mærker man på den, giver den er solidt og gedigent indtryk. Justeringen af skarphed foregår nemt uden slør og kikkerten er brillevenlig, idet de gummibeklædte øjestykker kan forskydes med en drejebevægelse.
Den optiske kvalitet er i orden, da den tegner rigtig skarpt over et stort felt, og de små randfænomener der kan ses, er ikke værd at skrive om. I total mørke med focus på små lys, kan man se små spejlinger af lysene (noget jeg har set dæmpet bedre andre steder). Men hvor tit bruger man en kikkert i total mørke?
8x25 kikkerten kan focusere så tæt på som 1,8m, hvilket er særdelet flot og brugbart f.eks. ved insekt og plante studier.
Vil man have en fysisk lidt mindre kikkert, kan købe den lidt billigere 8x21, som også er god, men dog en anelse mindre lysstærk, knap så gedigen og ikke fyldt med gas og vandtætnet.
Absolut en god rejsekammerat, der tegner skarpt, og som kan hænge i livremmen i kikkerttasken i mange mange år.

Excellent binoculars for Afrcian Safari

These were my sole binoculars for a month in Africa. They are light weight enough to hold positioned for a prolonged timeand to hang around your neck for a day in the field. They have great optics. I dropped them a couple of times on the metal floor of the vehicle and on the ground and they were unaffected. The focus was not affected but the ever-present dust. I am very pleased with these binoculars.

Great, lightweight binoc with excellent optics. Have used for backpacking & hiking with excellent results and very little space or weight taken up in the pack. Tough construction and easy to use and adjust to your eyes with or without eyeglasses. Hard to find waterproof binocs of this quality, price and mnimal weight. These fit the bill exactly and a good focal range at 8X25 for backyard birdwatching or long distance quality viewing of wildlife in the mountains.

I love these binoculars. They are sharp, easy to focus and light to carry. I took them on a recent trip and used them both for wildlife viewing and for a concert. Good low light viewing. I bought another pair for a gift.
