Easily recognised by the dual-axis and classic inverted porro prism design, the UCF R has all the features of a star performer: aspherical lens elements for edge-to-edge sharpness, BaK4 prisms, and multi-coated lenses for great light transmission. Whether you use it for indoor or outdoor events, you will be pleasantly surprised by the clarity and sharpness of the image. The UCF R is an ideal all-rounder, replacing the UCF Q series. Their compact design and light weight make them the ideal companion for a variety of uses: theatre, sport or nature observation. Although they are compact and light, they are also robust with durable rubberised body housings. The central focus design and multi-coated lens elements round out the first-class optical characteristics of this series.
Fully waterproof and nitrogen-purged (JIS Class 6)
The product is fully waterproof and has maximum protection against rain, dust, moisture, or internal fogging due to extreme temperature fluctuations. The binocular and spotting scopes are double O-ring sealed as well as nitrogen-purged so that temporary (i.e. accidental) immersion into 1 metre of water will have no negative effects.
Super Reflective Prism coating, including phase correction coating
In roof prism binoculars, light rays are mirrored several times which can result in reduced light transmission. By adding an additional Phase Correcting coating, the light rays frequencies are corrected to their original values. PENTAX has added the latest in Phase Correction Prism coating to all roof prism models.
Twist-up eyecups
The binoculars have large, multi-stop, twist-up eyecups that can easily be adjusted to your desired position. They can be fixed in 2 to 4 positions, depending on the binocular model. Combined with a large-diameter eyepiece (ocular lens) and comfortable eye-relief, it allows any user, even those wearing spectacles, to find a comfortable setting.
Inner Focusing
The Inner Focus function is critical to low-maintenance and long life guarantee. Exposure to airborne particles and moisture is avoided, thereby ensuring that no outside influences can penetrate the binocular housing and disrupt functionality.

These Pentax binoculars are great quality and great value. I bought the first pair about 10 years ago and were simply superb - even after going on safari, then being dropped down a flight of stairs! A year ago I bought 2 of these latest UCF R series from Jacobs Digital. They are equally as good, well built, easy on the eye for focussing, fit in a large pocket, and excellent for birdwatching. Highly recommended.

Very satisfied great product and easy to carry around. Every bit as good as conventional glasses and much more convenient to use. Already own Pentax 8x21 UCF mini which prompted purchase of another pair. In balance though prefer the 8x21's there is not that much perceivable difference in magnification but the 8x's are easier to hold steady. Both products recommended.

When i picked up the package it felt like there was nothing inside. The binoculars are incredibly light yet very sturdy. Small but fine to use. Quality for what I wanted is very good for price. Focus is good. Works with either glasses or without, though my preference is to use without. Image is a single image but detail is really good. As a pair of easily carried, good quality binoculars for out and about they are first rate.
