The scale and detail provide enough information to cover day walking and general tourism, but not too much as to become confusing and overly time consuming. It's a very useful general purpose map, but for more serious or overnight walking/hiking, the larger scale waterproof version is preferable. However I use mine in conjunction with the larger scale version. This map more easily gets me to the general area, while the larger scale waterproof fulfils my need for more detailed info. If you're planning a hiking/walking holiday in the area, I would suggest buying both!
