5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! No Sleep for me. 26 April 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I first heard of this story on the Reddit sub-forum No Sleep.

I decided to buy the Kindle version and read it in it's entirety and I'm very impressed. Excellent. Terrifying and all together a great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very gripping 18 Aug 2012
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I've followed the author since he posted his first part of the story as a stand alone and was blown away. Every new edition has been equally good and even though I have pretty much read the story already having it in book form altogether was just fantastic. would recommend this to anyone who likes novels or horror stories or anyone who is prepared to have nosleep.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Atmosphere, Excellent Read! 30 Jan 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
I first read Dathan Auerbach's story on the Creepypasta Wiki and was instantly hooked, so when I heard that it had been adapted into a full-length novel, I bought it right away!

The story itself has a very unsettling atmosphere around it, and constantly kept me on edge, bracing myself for whatever happened next. It brings up quite a few childhood fears, and neatly ties them into adult ones. The ending, as well, is a huge punch in the gut, and in the best possible way.

And then, of course, there's the fact that the story gave me nightmares, something which is no mean feat nowadays.

Excellent story, and one I'd highly recommend to any fan of horror! It's most definitely subtle horror, but in some ways, that's the best kind.

It dragged a bit at times, but the shocks and twists were enough to keep me entertained. Definitely worth a read!

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing! 19 May 2013
By Callum
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I believe this was the first story from /r/nosleep to get published, and it really is incredible. I'm so glad you managed this, you seriously deserve it, it's a brilliant story, well written and original. It's genuinely scary, and it's seriously difficult not to read in one sitting. If you've read this on /r/nosleep, it's still worth buying - this is an improvement that stays true to the original story. Congratulations Dathan, and thanks for an awesome story!

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible. 17 April 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
This book made me cry at the end.
It's written in such a refreshing and new tone and the structure of the book sends you back to thinking about little details that you didn't think would matter. The book is not chronological as the book focuses on you discovering the story along with the writer. But this doesn't matter, it makes it even more intense. You have to really think about the little details as everything pieces together. The book starts off with what seems like a general creepy story, but it soon gets a lot darker. The worst part is that this story is VERY realistic, this isn't a tale of ghouls or ghosts, this is something that could happen, something that is very real and there's even some evidence that suggests it may be real at the end of the book.

My favourite book. Just buy it.
