I bought this as a novelty Christmas present for my wife. She is absolutely addicted to these kind of games in proper arcades, so I thought I'd go for the next best thing!
Arrived in good time prior the Christmas delivery deadline - was well packed and in tact.
The instructions are simple to follow. But just make sure you have 4 "D" type batteries at the ready because this "toy" doesn't have a mains power option (unfortunately).
The machines comes with a bag of plastic coin tokens. You can also use 1p & 5p pieces, as they are just small enough for the two slots at the top of the machine. Don't be encourage to use anything bigger like a 20p because they will jam either in the slot itself or on the way down!
However, there is a tiny "trapdoor" at the top of the machine that you can remove and drop larger denominations like 50p and £1 coins onto the sliding floor at the bottom. This offers a little bit more excitement as you try to get those coins back out again,
There's a couple of buttons on the front of the toy: one controls sound. Ie it will play a fun-fair tune as you play. But bare in mind this will eat into your battery power, and the tune becomes a bit annoying after awhile.
The second button is the on/off switch. It also activate the "tilt" mechanism. If you activate it an alarm will go off and lights will flash if it detects you've been trying to "nudge" or tip the machine in order to get money out by devious methods!
My wife and I have used the machine daily since Christmas, still using the same batteries. We've had a couple of instances where a coin has got stuck on the way down, but if you have a long skewer you should be able to poke it free.
I would also recommend you get rechargable batteries rather than standard. It is a shame this machine doesn't run of the mains so be prepared to go through standard batteries like no one's business.
Overall, a very good and addictive game.
