Penny Legg writes about things she is interested in, which, in practice, means she has a very wide brief! After writing for magazines and newspapers on subjects as diverse as scuba diving (she is a PADI Master Scuba Diver), sailing and Scottish country dancing; editing magazines in Bangladesh, Belgium and the UK, and taking photographs to illustrate her work, she wrote her first book,' Folklore of Hampshire', which was published in August 2010. This has been followed by 'Southampton Then and Now', (October 2010) and 'Haunted Southampton', (February 2011). ' Winchester: History You Can See', is out in May 2011 and 'Voices of Southampton', in August 2011. She is the editor of 'Wordfall - The Writing Buddies' 2010 Anthology', which will be published in late 2011.
Penny has tutored non-fiction for the Writers Bureau. She is the former editor of 'The Woman Writer' for the Society of Women Writers & Journalists; writes for the in-house magazines at the Diplomatic Service Families Association and runs Writing Buddies, the group for writers in Southampton. She also undertakes the occasional photographic commission, and gives talks and workshops on aspects of writing, her life and work.
Her next projects include teaching at the University of the Third Age in Southampton and writing more books!
