Penland Book of Handmade Books, The: Master Classes in Bookmaking Techniques
This book is especially inspiring if you like the craft side of book-making, and want to know how to make books to a high standard. It contains a lot of photographs of a large variety of unusual structures, and features demonstrations of some of them, so that you are encouraged to think more creatively about what structure would work with your chosen theme.

Inspirational 6 Sep 2010
This book has been one of my best purchases. Not only does it have great interviews with the artists, but easy to follow guides through their working techniques. I am new to the art of bookbinding and alteration and this book has given me inspiration and knowledge to find out what area of this craft I will find best. The photography is clear and informative in itself with fantastic shots of the artist's work. I would heartily recommend this to anyone with an interest in book alteration, from beginner to more accomplished. It has made me realise that a book doesn't have to be conventional and can take any shape or form that I wish it to.
