I found this a very well written, useful and readable guide. I considered my punctuation good prior to reading this book, but still learned a considerable amount from Davidson's simple yet informative style and approach. For a reasonably short book it packs a lot in. It is accessible to beginners while still being extremely useful for the more experienced. Whether one chooses to read it from start to finish, as I did, or have it as a handy reference guide, or both, I'd highly recommended it for your shelf (or e-book reader).

affordable and easy to follow 6 Jan 2011
By Stephen Pellerine - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
Really surprised that this book, part of a series from Penguin (Writers' Guides) has not yet been commented on, but then again I have not seen these in many bookshelves out there.

This book, and the series (I have them), are very affordable and easy to follow books addressing areas on writing correctly. The emphasis is on writing in general, but of course such basics extend to academic writing: they are the fundaments being addressed here.

If you like writing and like to have references in the house on writing - this is an affordable option you should not overlook.
