Product Description

Product Description

Although deep in South Wales, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire have a strong English influence, but their most striking feature, from the point of view of the walker, is that they contain some of the most spectacular coastal scenery and finest stretches of coast path in Britain. Although the walks in this guide inevitably concentrate on the coast, especially using the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, their characters vary considerably, ranging from the splendid cliff scenery around the peninsula of Dinas Island and to the west of Port-Eynon Bay, to the wooded stretches between Saundersfoot and Tenby.

4.0 out of 5 stars Easy to use and varied, 30 July 2008

I like the Pathfinder books in general as they are easy to use and cater for all types of walks with varied environments even in one walk. The key maps are useful and the individual walk maps are acceptable. We recently used the pembrokeshire guide for a weeks holiday at Tenby. We completed two simple walks, two medium and one hard. All were different to each other and the highlighted features were good. The only slight negative i could find was the odd occasion when i wasnt sure if we were going the right way but common sense prevails. Never far off the right track.

On a week's visit to Tenby we didn't really need the South Pembrokeshire OS map when sticking to the routes in this book. The book contains a map of each walk using what seemed to be an extract from the OS map. The directions were fairly clear and we didn't get lost.
