overall and for the price, a decent ear defender as you would come to expect from one of the leading manufactures.The adjustable head band gives a very snug and comfortable fit even over prolonged periods of time.The adjustable volume control when set to the right level almost makes you forget that you are wearing them altogether as you can quiet clearly hear all ambient sounds going on around you but at the same time cutting out all the harmfull high decibel sound levels.My one and only criticism would be that, when I tried to fold the ear defenders by tucking the ear cups up and under as per the instructions, I found that the wire`s seemed to obstruct a smooth folding action despite the fact that the wires were where the instructions said that they should be.I was concerned that the wires could come detached if I continued and so for this reason I do not fold them.The ear defenders come with a spare set of orange earcup covers, other colors including a camoflage set can be purchased from various outlets for those wishing to add their own personel touch, as well as spare ear pads/cushions.The peltor sport-tac runs on two AA batteries which peltor estimate should run for around 500 hours.

The protection from gun noise is good, though as someone with heating loss I find the volume of speech enhancement inadequate, leaving me a bit out of conversations when I am shooting. It is better than nothing, but for the money I had hoped for better.
