DVD Description

Peep Show is back: the multi-award-winning, critically acclaimed comedy now returns for its seventh series.

Mark (David Mitchell) and Jeremy (Robert Webb) are still sharing their flat in south London, but their journey through life is becoming ever more complicated--and bitterly funny. Hear their deepest, darkest and most socially unacceptable thoughts as they navigate their way through a surprising role reversal: Mark, the inhibited, obsessive white-collar drone, is forced to rethink his life after becoming a father, whilst wannabe musician Jeremy, a lazy man with big ideas, finally finds himself in possession of money, power--and, finally, responsibility.

Follow Mark and Jeremy from the birth of Mark’s baby to his christening. We also meet Mark’s parents for the first time, when the boys attempt to celebrate a traditional family Christmas. And a disastrous New Year’s Eve party crawl culminates with Mark and Jeremy facing choices that could end their friendship--forever.

Sometimes in life you do ask yourself why things happen, and in some cases you can usually work out an answer, but when I heard another series of Peep Show was going to be made it got me thinking about why, and would it really work out? I was scared my favourite show was going to go to the dogs, or get rolled up by Superhans and smoked.

How wrong I was, this is a good series from the writers, especially the sidelines, with Jez and his new girlfriend, and his new musical mate Nick. I especially liked the path they took Superhans on, he's always been outrageous and well played by Matt King.

A taster of what you can expect, a new baby, more musings about whether Dobby is right for Mark, Jez up to his usual tricks, and a cliffhanger - it's like series 4 all over again.

As it has been pointed out, this has no extras, which is a real pity. Was hoping we'd get some of Peep Show's night on the DVD, but as it was rushed out (got to my house before the last episode had been aired) we have nothing more than the episodes. Though this is a good encode, with a DVD9, but sadly still only stereo. Also, why are we not geeing a HD version? It was in HD on 4. Also RipGuard was a bit of a pain on my older DVD player, but on the PS3 it was no problem whatsoever.

I am sort of hoping it ends on a high, as another series might not go down as well as this did.

How people can suggest Peep Show is over the hill is beyond me. Series 7 had returned with some unbelievable gags and plots and every episode will consistently make you laugh. I think the majority of true Peep Show fans will agree when I say it's as good as it's ever been, if not better. Super Hans is in every episode in series 7 too which is a massive bonus.

When a TV series reaches a seventh series, you think that the show may be getting tired and will never be as good as the earlier episodes, with peep show it is different.

Yes, Sam Bain and Jesse Armstrong have achieved a rare feat in reaching series 7 in a british comedy and maintaining a consistent quality of writing throughout all seven series.

Highlights for this series include Mark and Jeremy being locked in an apartment building, Mark running away from his baby being born and an awkward christmas dinner. If you have ever watched peep show before then you will love this.

One downer though, why no special features?

I love peep show and I have all the previous series so this was a must purchase for me, however it's a pity they couldn't be bothered to include any extras.
