An extremely useful short review of Children's Orthopaedics 12 Mar 2001

Format:Paperback

Staheli's short text is a useful primer on children's orthopaedics. It works both as a question and answer text and as a reference guide. It is small enough to fit into a white coat pocket, but long enough to be reasonably authoritative, and has been written by a selection of the top names in children's orthopaedics. Each chapter has a short list of references for those inclined to dig further. A must for those undertaking an attachmment in children's orthopaedics at registrar (resident) or SHO (intern) level.

I was recommended this book by an orthopaedic consultant - this book is a gem.
Current, accurate and thoughtfully compiled to make the subject matter more interesting.
I keep coming back to it whether lecturing or in clinical practice.

Not great, but could be a useful reading for a family physician or urgent care doc. A lot of space is devoted to surgical details irrelevant for family practice.
