5.0 out of 5 stars A gentle gem of a book 19 Jan 2010
Format:Paperback
This beautiful, short and skillfully written gem of a book for children conveys the essence of the author's (and the Buddha's) teachings. In simple language, Thich Nhat Hanh inspires not just children, but everyone, to lead a happier, more mindful life through stories from his own life and by retelling those of the Buddha. His ability to teach the art of mindful living to all age groups is truly awe-inspiring.

This is like a children's version of "The Miracle of Mindfulness", but this 'spoke' to me just as much as the other book. Some short passages were truly touching. A short section of practices is included at the end. Hopefully, I will be introducing some of these practices to my children as they grow. I can only wish that they will be moved and changed by this wonderful man's writings, as I have been.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mindful living 5 Mar 2011
Format:Paperback
This book is appropriate for children (and adults) who are beginning to question and be conscious of their own responsibilities.
Very complex Buddhist ideas are expressed simply, and with great ease.....
Practical ideas...such as the pebble in your pocket...which becomes a anchor for emotions is skillfully explained. With A NLP background myself, you can see how this works and is a good place to start.
A wonderful book.
