Product Description

Synopsis

Growing up in the 1960s in Brighton, Tony suffered physical and mental abuse, including electric shock treatment at the age of ten. Abandoned by his family, he was sent to Australia but failed to settle and stowed away on a ship home. Having visited four continents, survived four brushes with death and a journey of 30,000 miles, he arrived back in England profoundly changed, but still only 16 years old.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another book by Tim Lay, 14 Oct 2008
I enjoyed Pebble on the Beach - it was well written and had lots of local interest for someone from brighton. I see that Tim Lay has got another book out - The Sewerside Chronicles- I'm going to order a copy - if its anything like this book it'll be great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Poor Effort , 28 Jul 2007
Tony has written a book to cash in on his childhood before thinking of the family he is hurting. He should have thought that his mother would be affected, being that she is still alive and now not in her youth. This seems to be rather callous.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review , 16 Oct 2007

(REAL NAME)
I found Tony's book to be a fascinating read. It makes us recognise how the actions of one person can impact on another and how this can actually shape and alter someone's life. I am particularly interested in the references to the other children for personal reasons but Tony will know what these are. A great book, which would in fact be a good story line for a film.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, whether we like it or not. Our uncle has his viewpoint on the story and is entitled to it.
