I brought this as was going on a narrow boat for the first time (50th B'day present!). It is very informative and accurate and allowed us to work out in advance our route with stops at places to visit and more importantly eat and drink (the books are updated regularly). I just felt it gave us more confidence before we set out and made our trip far more enjoyable having answered many of the questions we had before getting on the boat and knowing that we had plenty of time to do everything without worrying about how long it takes to do each section of the canal.

This is a brilliant little book for touring the canals. We covered the Stourport ring in a week and this book was spot on with its descriptions, routes, timings and facilities. I would say that it is the bible for all canal tourers who are new to the area. I would definitely recommend it, excellent value for money.

I brought this book to help us find our way around on our first canel boat holiday. The book is great it gives you the hours needed to cover each section where you can moor up, get water, etc and has a great guide to the canel side pubs. A great book for first timers to boating or just first time to that area.

What a great book, well written. Some information is slightly out of date, but that should not detrack from this essential guide to a great boating holiday.
