5.0 out of 5 stars Cold War IB 6 April 2010
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
As a relative newcomer to IB this book was a 'god send'. It covers all that you need to know about the Cold War for the IB paper 2 and gives valuable links to other elements of the course including ToK and essay structure. The mixture of text and sources allows students and teachers to examine the elements of the Cold War with appropriate weight. I would recommend this text to any dealing with the Cold War.

5.0 out of 5 stars For A-Level too! 8 April 2011
Format:Paperback
This text book is amazingly user-friendly, with specific and general time-lines at the back, understandable language throughout, complete with quotes from respected historians. As an A-level student studying the Cold War, I have found this book extremely relevant to my studies despite its intent for IB.

Furthermore, as a visual learner, the colour, layout and pictures throughout help to sustain my interest even during late-night essay sessions. I really do recommend this book to anyone studying the cold war for either IB or A-level.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent purchase 25 Feb 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
A book that is extremely well focused on the requirements for IB - particularly helpful for revision. The end of the Cold War could perhaps be a little more developed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent student resource 26 Mar 2012
Format:Paperback
An absolutely splendiferous Cold War resource whether you're studying for the IB diploma or not.
It has been of immense use during my A level studies, conveying information clearly and concisely without compromising detail. There are plenty of excerpts, cartoons, maps, photo and quotes that make this an approachable, informed and incredibly useful introduction to the Cold War.

5.0 out of 5 stars BEST COLD WAR BOOK EVER. 26 Mar 2012
By DScarlett - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
As an A Level student, this book was invaluable in my studies. Even though it is designed for the IB course, this book is so good that it easily covers the A Level course too. I would not even attempt to study the course without this book; a bible of Cold War knowledge and Gaddis quotes. Jo Thomas and Keely Rogers must be incredible history teachers, its no wonder that they have turned their spanning knowledge into book form for the world to see. A top-notch book that is going to get me into university! 5/5!

Format:Paperback
I am currently an IB graduate and I have not found a more comprehensive book as this with so many diverse exercises and assistance with essays. I would recommend this book as a must have for all students or teachers who chose the Cold War Topic.
