5.0 out of 5 stars What a Debut, 29 Nov 2004
By D. Slack (Manchester, England) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I first heard 'colour of fire' in march of 2004 supporting Placebo in my home city of Manchester. From the word go they took the venue by storm, picking up many new fans along the way. Ever since the gig, i followed (and continue to do so) the band and their fortunes. It wasn't long before the band announced the release date of the long awaited (by me anyway) first album.

The album arrived, and i was not disappointed. The first track 'Robot Rock' kicks in and immediately shows you what this band are about. It's hard but well crafted, the sound is something quite different. This standard never slips throughout the whole album, from the first track to the last. Standout tracks for me are; the quite simply brilliant 'The Exile' and the equally as fantastic 'Pearl Necklace...'. It is hard though to pick out a favourite as the whole album is well worked and beautifully crafted.

The whole band does its part to make this album what it is, however i think special homage is owed to guitarist and vocalist Owen for giving this album its unique sound. Well Done lads, totally awesome.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic First Album, 21 Jul 2004
'Pearl Necklace' is a stunning debut album from a little heard of gem of an English band. There are some stand out tracks such as the energy filled 'The Exile' and powerful 'Images of You'. This album contains some of the bands best tracks, although early singles are not included. Songs are well written and memorable, with catchy lyrics and tunes. Colour of Fire breath new life into the British music scene with their first album.
Tracks are 1. Robot Rock, 2. The Exile, 3. A couple of Reasons, 4. Italics, 5. 9 Volter 6. Images of You, 7. A Pearl Necklace for Her Majesty, 8. Candles, 9. Second class Citizen,10. Hatemail, 11. The Company Won't Colour Me.
This is an ideal rock album for people who like alternatives and something that is new and diffrent. If there is one downfall of this album is that it can't capture the sound and energy of a CoF live show, but for a studio album it is excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome, 6 Oct 2004
After seing Colour Of Fire years ago, i had almost forgotten they existed until i decided to purchase this album. And it is unreal. The vocals are amazing, the riffs catchy but complex and it has easily become one of my favourite albums. This band is superb live and the album is one of the best buys ever! Stick it in your car stereo and be prepared to be wowwwwwed!!
