Maybe not for the occasional PJ listener,
By Red Mosquito (Horton Bank Top) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Pearl Jam Twenty (Audio CD)
The magnificant double CD celebrating the band's first 20 years will probably only interest the diehard fans. The packaging is excellent and includes a very detailed booklet bound in a hardback cover. I won't give you a track by track account but here are my highlights:- CD1 track 1 - Release (Verona, Italy 2006. I only got to see them at Leeds fest in 2006 so this one is new to me) track 2 - Alive (One of the first live recordings 22/12/1990) track 5 - Black (The 1992 MTV unplugged version. The full DVD of this concert is available with the Ten collector's edition) track 11- Crown Of Thorns (Las Vagas 2000. The 10th Anniversary tribute to Andrew Wood) track 13- Walk With Me (Mountain View California 2010 A song from Neil Young's Le Noise. NY joined them for this one) CD2 track 1 - Say Hello 2 Heaven (Temple Of The Dog demo) track 4 - It Ain't Like That (A demo with soon to be touring partners Alice In Chains) track 5 - Need to Know (A Matt Cameron demo that later became 'The Fixer') track 10- Indifference (Bologna, Italy 2006. I've not heard this superb live version before) track 11- Of The Girl, Instrumental track 12- Faithful (Pistora Italy 2006. A pre gig sound check) As mentioned earlier much of this will probably be of no interest to the casual PJ listener however it's of great interest to this diehard.

A great legacy for a great band,

Having read the reviews so far and listened to the music, I cannot agree, this is a great band on film with there music they have produced in there years, weather it is perfect in sound capture or not. Its great to hear odds and sorts of there songs captured thru the years we do not see or lucky not to have been there. Music in some cases may sound as if recorded in the crowd but it is what makes it so down to earth. Great band, great music, but most of all they keep us wanting more! Keep making us smile guys.

Unless you're a diehard you won't buy this; if your are you will,
By crezza (uk) - See all my reviews

I don't understand some of the reviews. It's simple; if you're a diehard you'll buy this and love it for some of the oddities. If you're not a diehard you just won't understand and you'll think it's rubbish. I'm a diehard so it's 5 stars but if you're not then buy all the studio cds plus Benaroya Hall, then see them live (and get that bootleg off their website). Then you'll understand, then buy this and you'll love it. As for the packaging, it's great; much better than a standard CD and more like "fans only" stuff.
