5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding 2 Oct 2001
Format:DVD
This DVD is amazing, I've been a Pearl Jam fan now for almost Ten years and this DVD has to be my favourite of all their releases. I travelled all the way over to the states last year to watch the band in Portland and Seattle, this DVD brought back all the memories and is as close as you can get to seeing the band without actually being there. It's a must have for any fan of live music

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent introduction to Pearl Jam 11 Jun 2003
Format:DVD
I bought this for my brother's birthday, and after watching it with him it's made me realise what an excellent band Pearl Jam are.
I've never really listened to them too much, but now i'm going to have to buy some albums because the entire dvd is great. Dissident, Evenflow and Don't Go are classics, and the DVD also has the video for Evolution, which is excellent. The track with the sign language dancer is beautiful too, genius idea.
Oh, and another excellent feature is the Matt Cam section, where you can watch a few songs performed live with the camera focused on the drummer- Matt Cameron can do some serious drumming, oh yes indeed.
Overall, it's totally opened my eyes to how much Pearl Jam rock, so even if you don't know the songs, it doesn't matter- buy it and you soon will.

Welcome PJ Fans to the Band doing what they do best. Playing live. It's been a long time coming but the experience has been truly worth it. The DVD includes an entire concert of PJ in some of the most exciting cities in the US. The DVD has something for everyone. The sound and visuals are superb. The DVD offers songs a selection of songs from the entire Pearl Jam catalogue. Eddie does look different with a beard. Enjoy the moment when he makes his presence on stage with Indian headgear. He looks like Val Kilmer in one of the last scenes of the Doors - The Movie. The outtakes include an insight into the cities the band and crew have visited. The Outtakes of the Band and the Fans really moved me. It shows there are a lot of us out there who truly appreciated music. Those who eat, sleep and drink music. These are the PJ Fans. I particularly enjoyed Given To Fly in which someone signs everything that the band sing. Eddie then proceeds to slow dance with her. Fantastic. If you love PJ buy this. If you love Eddie buy this. If you just love music buy this. The music speaks for itself, if more people in the world were moved by some of the songs that Pearl Jam are producing maybe there would be less hatred and more kindness in the world. As Eddie would say ".. Back to the Music". Worth every penny. JC

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Document of Pearl Jam's live ability 31 July 2004
Format:DVD
This is a great DVD. If you're a fan it's essential, if only because there are only three official PJ DVDs in existance. Not only that, but it contains the videos for the classics "Do The Evolution" (dark song, dark video) and "Oceans" (odd, but popular among the hardcore) as well as about 30mins of montage footage of the band, fans and tour destinations.
Now, the DVD itself.
Well, it has a great setlist with some excellent numbers, my favourite here being "Animal", "RVM" and of course "Rockin In' The Free World". It's also worth noting that this DVD also contains a rare live performance of "Jeremy", which in the last few tours has been overlooked for one reason or another. Eddie himself describes this as the "visual equivalient of the bootlegs" they've released. To be honest, I can't think of a better way to put it myself. If you liked the Binaural tour bootlegs, then this is indeed the visual format of some of the best shows taken from the tour.
The reason for missing off the last star?
Well, it may just be me, but I found a few of the songs lacking, not to mention the band looked pretty knackered throughout. However, it does contain some excellent performances and these should not be overlooked. Enjoy; it's an excellent set of songs with some great extras and also, so I read, the fastest selling music DVD in history.
4 Stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars 'It's Ok., Its Ok'.....Actually its excellent! 24 Mar 2003
By A Customer
Format:DVD
This DVD is excellent! I enjoyed every minute that i was watching it and it really made me want to go see them live! It is definetely value for money as the the concert footage is 2hrs long plus there are extras such as little montage videos of thier 2000 european tour and their music videos for Oceans and Do the Evolution. I personally would of liked there to have been interview footage but that isn't really a complaint i have, just something that would of been nice. Because it is the music that counts and you certainly don't feel disappointed after you've watched the DVD. It has a wide range of songs from old to new to rarities. I particulary enjoyed the cover of It's Ok by Dead Moon as it was quite moving to here EVERYONE in the audience sing 'its ok' at the right time. I also like the extra video of 'the cities' where at one point you just see loads of people running to get to the front of the stage as soon as the arena doors has opened. This is a definite must have for all Pearl Jam fans and i think anyone who is a rock fan will enjoy this too.

5.0 out of 5 stars PLAY IT LOUD ! ! ! 5 Jan 2003
Format:DVD
Pearl Jam has been one of my favorite bands ever since I was wearing flannel and being an angst filled. This DVD has it all, old, new, and everything in between. With a 28 song setlist, this disk has quite a bit to offer. The picture quality is not the best, but it has that "old movie" kind of feel. I do believe that this was done quite intentionally. The sound, on the other hand, is absolutely amazing. I picked this up right when it first came out. I took it home and proceeded to pump it through my Digital 5.1 home theater system and it just rocked.
A nice thing about the DVD is that the setlist includes some of the non-album B-sides from the old record singles. "Leatherman," "I got id," and "Long Road" are all rarities included. The only disappointments were the absence of "Alive," "Black," and a couple of other tracks that were not released as singles. But hey, with 28 songs on the DVD, who am I to complain? Additional highlights include "Given to Fly" where there is a person signing the whole song. Why anyone would sign a concert is beyond me, but, it is beautiful to watch. Ed brings her up on the main stage and dances with her. . . It is great.
The extras on the disk are good. It has the video for "Do the Evolution," and the video for "Oceans." The second of which, I don't think ever hit MTV. There is the "Matt Cam" that is mounted to the drum kit and shows the drummer through three whole songs. There are little films that show where the tour went, show the band, and show the fans. The "places" and the "band" mini-films have instrumental tracks going on in the background that are pretty cool. The "fans" mini-film has a really great live version of "Yellow Ledbetter" playing.
