The new Project E:Motion Trail M2 features bi-lateral midfoot stability that offers nimble security and support on the most technical trails.
Pearl Izumi's most protective and stable E:Motion platform coupled with a supportive and protective seamless upper offer the dedicated trail runner a rugged, yet fast footwear package. Bi-lateral stability support is trail tuned to keep your foot on top of the midsole platform in technical terrain. 1to1 Energy Foam cushions forefoot upon impact and returns energy back to the runner. Forefoot rock plate protects foot against stone bruising and rock push-through. Aggressive, multi-directional Carbon Rubber outsole offers superb traction and abrasion resistance. Dynamic Offset of 4mm at initial contact to 7.5 mm at mid-stance (3.5mm effective drop). Weight: 283g (size 9 US).Available in:

- Run faster
Sadly, you probably won't need to outrun any cheetahs, but with Project E:MOTION you'll feel like you could. That's because our unique midsole design drives your legs forward as efficiently as possible. By reducing the energy it takes to complete your stride, it's only natural to start moving your legs faster.
- Run Quieter
A loud stride is an inefficient stride. Think about it. The more noise you're making, the more energy is being taken away f

Cushioned Perfection 14 Jun 2013
By Daniel P. Henry - Published on
I've been on a quest to find the right shoe much longer than prince charming, and these be they. The Cascadia was on top for several years, but the 4mm drop and supreme comfort make these king of the hill. I have orthotics and met pads in them, so I need the cush. I really can't emphasize how impressed I am! After 2 weeks, I bought a second pair.

Now I trail run & teach all day in them, which brings me anxiety because I don't want them to EVER wear out. I bought two more pair of the road M3s for teaching and road running specifically. They are truly that good! That's 4 pairs of PI EMotion shoes, and I couldn't be happier.

I highly recommend these awesome shoes!

Great fit, great feel. Slips and falls possible. 22 Nov 2013

These shoes are a fantastic fit and feel great, as they are seamless and hug the foot well. Since, like many, I have a wonky size difference in my feet, I went one size up from causal shoes to avoid swelling and blisters. The shoes are light without feeling cheap and have a generous tread pattern that looks as if you could climb any hillside or jump and stream with them on. The inside has a great satin feel and doesn't pill quickly the way some shoes do with cotton socks.
The only thing to watch out for is the grip of the tread. These shoes are almost too slick. The first time I wore them, I had some fun literally sliding around all over the place to try and rub whatever coating is on the rubber off. No luck. Whatever makes them slick, keeps them slick. DO NOT wear these on a wet asphalt track, because you will likely fall. Also, a rainy trail might be your undoing if you don't watch your step. I am sure on a synthetic track or indoors on a treadmill, these shoes will do just fine. Since I like to stay outdoors, I will have to save these for the snow days in the gym.

Great cushioned trail shoe 12 Aug 2013

I was a little apprehensive with all the marketing, etc on this one. In the past I have been using the Saucony Xodous as my go to trail shoe but for long runs it does not have the cushioning that I need for my legs. Enter the PI TM2....

Great fit, the seamless construction is awesome. The overpronation control is good. I love the cushion on my longer trail runs. In addition, I find that I am ok on intermittent asphalt and track in between trails where the Xodous would usually tear me up...I would like Pearl to continue with this line and extend the M series to include a TM1 and TM3 for shorter and longer runs on trail.

I am a standard size 12 in just about all shoes but needed this in 12.5.

In summation, great shoe, great company, great product. I will be buying more of the emotion line in the future.
Nothing I'd Change 21 July 2014

The second best trail running shoes I've ever owned, right after the PI EM Trail N2's. I don't need the support, so I like the N2's better, but if you need a little support these are hard to beat. I've been running ultras for 15+ years and have always had something I would change in about every pair of shoes I've owned and there's nothing I'd change in these.
85 miles and starting to fall apart 17 May 2014

Feel very nice on runs, but by the second run, pinky toe popped through side. Now up to 85 miles and falling apart.
