I had an excellent opportunity to test this product out. On a recent 12 mile ride the conditions were; 3-5 degrees F, 15 mph with 25 mph gusts, feels like -18 degrees, and unfortunately most of the ride was directly toward the wind. Fortunately this balaclava worked very well! No issues w/ cold or wind. The fit was about 98% satisfactory. Once you have the balaclava on (without the bottom pulled over your mouth and/or nose) the material creates a nice seal around your face, however, once you pull the bottom portion over your nose, the material creates folds (or bunches up right by your eyes). The issue is this creates gaps on the side of your face because now the material does not conform completely to your head which could allow air to blow through. I wear a beanie with my balaclava, so it covers this potential trouble spot, as well, for that cold of weather you may be wearing ski goggles which would cover the potential air leaking area anyway. Look at pics of other balaclavas being worn by people or manikins and you will likely see most have this same issue.
