First impressions of this boot were great.They were comfortable from day 1 and seemed to do well for the first couple of months couple of 10 mile walks each weekend.
However on a 2 week backpacking trip on mixed terrain, not so great. One of the soles has almost completely lost its tread in the centre and walking down hill has stretched the boot so much that they no longer fit well and even insoles didn't prevent the ultimate blisters.
However their waterproof abilities are good.

Really well built shoes and very comfortable to walk in and a brilliant price. I will be doing an expedition in a few days and will update this review them.

I worked outdoors for over 20 years. My job involved walking and I used a lot of boots. I had bought decent pairs in the past but I had been suffering excruciating foot pain in recent years.
I bought a pair of Hi Tec 50 Peaks boots last year and was immediately impressed. They have been the most comfortable boots I have ever worn. The foot pain has disappeared!
I don't think they are as durable as some of the boots I have worn. They have only lasted a year (but I did a lot of walking). Despite that, I award them 5 stars for comfort and value for money. I would rather shell out for these boots on Amazon every year that spend a fortune on a different make that might cripple me!

Comfortable and quality boots
I am not the "professional" hiker. For the price I paid this pair proves value for money. They are very comfortable, light and sturdy. I am satisfied with purchase.

Hitec Boots
