HEART WARMING READ! 21 May 2009
Format:Paperback
This book was a really nice suprise! With a young family I have rarely get the chance to read but I went out of my way to make time for this one - locking the bathroom door and reading it in the bath every night for a week until I finished it! And, although the pages are slightly rippled around the edges from dipping in and out of the bubbbles, this book will forever remain on my bookshelf because I really felt part of the story, the characters were realistic and I felt totally involved in their lives and the story they had to tell...I even shed a tear or two in parts! I don't want to spoil the plot or reveal too much but rest assured that this is a great read! If you want to wind down and take yourself off into someone elses world grab a cuppa and visit The Peacock Emporium!

By Nicola F (Nic) TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
This is the second novel of Moyes' I've read and she's quickly becoming a favourite author of mine, mainly due to her ability to create quirky characters and imaginitive settings.

The Peacock Emporium focuses on Suzanna Peacock, a somewhat 'spoiled little rich girl,' her struggling marriage and her family secrets. It's centered around her vintage knick-knacky shop and the people she encounters there with a nice dash of romance and a splash of heartache thrown in for good measure.

The story jumps backwards and forwards in time from different characters perspectives which *could* be confusing though eventually Moyes ties it all together with a nice lacey bow. I went through stages of despising and feeling sympathy for all the characters involved, which I think is the sign of a good author and a good read. I was sorry to see this book end, I wish there was a Peacock Emporium in my local high street!

I picked this book up completely by chance and read it in practically one go. Its an easy read but so satisfying. Characters and plot are really inviting. Went on to read all of the rest of Jojo Moyes books after this and have loved them all. Would recommend this book.
