Whilst listening to this CD, you can't help but feel overwhelmed by the number of quality artists who actually give a monkey's about the sentiments this compilation expresses. Most make plain and poetic statements about the injustice of Western foreign policy and the murder committed by those who rule these so called Western "civilizations".
If you don't know much about the real dirt going down behind the closed and covert doors of Western governments, then sit down with a cup of tea or cigarette or beer or magic plant or whatever your pleasure and give this your full attention.
Whilst the 1st CD is the "weaker" of the two, there are gems thorugh-out this collection which warrant an immediate defiant march to your local store or reach for your credit card to support thie cause and buy yourself a copy.
Congratulations to all the artists who contributed. It's efforts like this that keep the human spirit alive.

This album has been compiled for a worthy cause by some of the most talented hip hop and folk singers of the politically active musical scene. Featuring the theme songs of both the January anti-war protest in Washington DC (Chumbawumba's Jacob's Ladder) and the enormous world wide march on February 15th (Stephan Smith's remix of Pete Seeger's 'The Bell.') this CD serves as a great outlet for creative resistance against the war in Iraq. A mixture of English and American music of various styles, there really is something for everyone to groove along to. Highlights are The Unpeople's self titled song featuring anti- war activist and author, John Pilger's speech at last October's anti-war rally in London and the Asian Dub Foundation's remix of Tariq Ali's speech at the same event. Well known artists such as Billy Bragg, Alabama 3 and Public Enemy nestle alongside less celebrated acts such as Ginger Tom and Roots Manuva. Strong female leads from Ani Defranco and the brilliant Ms. Dynamite complete this album as a well charted journey through the modern music scene. Only slightly let down by the inlcusion of Stephan Smith's well played but suprememly bad song and Midnight Oil's misguided departure from their ususally mellow niche into a bizarre heavy rock sound. A great CD to sing along with angrily while on your way to protest the war.

The standout track by far which reminds me alot of Penny Rimbaud from Crass. Most people might find it too revolutionary but the music does stand out and exciting. We Want a Ceasefire sure sounds great if all sides would agree.
