This is my favourite cd of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir because it has the songs on it that bring me great joy. The fact that all the words are printed too, so that you get the benefit of the poetry coupled with the lilt of the music, is a delight.
"Be still my soul" is one of the most beautiful hymns ever and I could listen to it all day! The prayer of St Francis "Lord make me an instrument of thy Peace" always moves me to tears - that too is totally beautiful, the voices soaring delightfully. "A Wayfaring man of Grief" "The Lord is my Shepherd" - all wonderful.
I recommend this cd to all who love spiritual music. They won't be disappointed.

I have listened to many Mormon Tabernacle Albums over the years - I consider this one to be one of the very best. The arrangements are superb especially - All things bright and Beautiful- Be Still my Soul and Peace Like a River. It always fills me with peace after a busy day. Its a must album to buy if you like listening to a good choir.

This is the third brand new recording that the Mormon Tabernacle Choir has recorded on their own label. Planned as a direct follow up to their best-selling "Consider The Lilies" CD, "Peace Like A River" follows a very similar program of song selection and arrangements, with a sprinkling of spirituals, pieces by John Rutter, newly-arranged songs by Mack Wilberg, and much more. It's a lovely, peaceful CD for listening anytime you want a break from the world. Here's the track list:

I unreservedly recommend this recording for lovers of excellent choral singing, and people who are looking for beautiful, peaceful music in their lives. The Choir continues to set new standards for itself in their new recordings. If you haven't heard them yet on these brand new recordings, you owe it to yourself to discover why the Choir continues to be an American institution to be proud of.

Peace Like a River truly is a peaceful recording. The music is ecumenical in its religous audience and is superb in performance, sound quality, and value. This choir has undergone an exquisite transformation over the past 75 years, and has been steadily climbing Billboard's Top 100 charts in Classical, Classical Crossover, and Christian recordings. The music is superb, even non-classical lovers (like myself) will enjoy the sublime beauty of the recording. A must buy!

The Tabernacle Choir has another hit!! This is just a wonderful CD - amazing sound. Wilburg's arrangements and Jessop's energetic and demanding directing make this a "must have" album. How can this choir get any better???
