"Pay Off Your Mortgage in 2 Years" is a unique television event with 16 hours of prime-time programming on BBC2, broadcast over 2 years. Guided by financial expert Graham Hooper, and presenter Rene Carayol, 8 households attempt to clear their mortgages through a range of money-saving and money-making strategies. The "Pay Off Your Mortgage in 2 Years" book, published against the first series in 2006, with the paperback publishing against the second series in 2007, shows you how to identify the strategy that will best suit you and your mortgage. It includes jargon-free advice, no nonsense information, case studies and inspiration for everyone burdened by a mortgage. "Pay Off Your Mortgage in 2 Years" is aimed at home-owners everywhere and anyone interested in finance, property or who has followed the TV series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fundament, a starting point and gets you to take action, 5 Mar 2006
What do some of the reviewers think? You buy the book and all your money worries will disappear? I am a mortgage broker and I know that very few people in this country will be able to pay off their whole mortgage in 2 years.

However the book is getting people to think about their financial future and that they can take control over it. It is changing readers attitude towards their money and how to work it to their advantage. All the negative reviews are from people who will never take control of their money or lives, as they have not seen the hidden mesages.

Read the book, model your situation to the examples given (note: they are examples only of what people can do to bring in extra money or save money by curbing excessive spending, without becoming boring), build a financial plan for the next 6, 12, 24 months, then have a similar plan for the next 5, 10, 15 years. Dont copy the money making ideas from the book, but find your own which interest you, using the examples to make extra money. Who knows you could become an entrepreneur or fully self employed. Use your own creativity, a positive mind set, and work at it, to fund a happy lifestyle. Do not give in to any negative mind set! Take action!

2.0 out of 5 stars Basic!!!, 16 Jan 2006
I read this book in one evening. I could only recommend it to an absolute beginner to the idea of saving cash and paying off your mortgage. If you know how your mortgage works and have a decent grasp on money saving ideas (don't buy a £2 coffee a day etc!!), please look elewhere. Perhaps my expectations were too high, just all seems very obvious!

1.0 out of 5 stars don't bother, 14 Jan 2006
By A Customer
This book was no help at all. The first 80 odd tell you about the different types of mortgages and how much they cost. The rest of the book tells advises you to make cakes and the like to get extra money in. In my opinion you would be better off putting the cost of this book against paying off your mortgage!
