1.0 out of 5 stars Complicated, and EE are no help! 11 Jun 2014

I really think this could be a good item if EE got their finger out! To set it up so that you can top up, they send a code via text message to the sim. But unless you can put that sim into an EE phone to read the code, you can't activate it. I don't have an EE phone, just this thing and so I couldn't top it up. Eventually managed to get to speak to a real person (no mean feat) who topped it up for me and said he'd over-ridden that code thing. Tried to top up again, no such luck. Can't top it up online, can't get to speak to anyone on the phone unless you have an hour to spare playing the push button game. Called into the EE shop in Bangor and asked what I was supposed to do - the young guy in there just shrugged and suggested I go onto a monthly plan. I paid 20 in that shop so that he would top it up, only to find that it doesn't work like that, you top it up and it has the money on it, but you then have to get online and tell it what you want to purchase with that money - either data or data and minutes etc. Till you do that, the money you put on it just sits there and you can't use the dongle. But you can't get online to tell it what you want because you don't have that code... Just don't do it, it will age you 20 years.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleased with choice 22 Mar 2014

Was able to get connected with ease.
Signal strength and hence connection at 2g or 3g varied with position of device in the house. 3g connection achieved near window or upstairs. Area does not have 4g network available.
Only disconcerting thing was the link to EE, the network provider. Spurious text messages were received indicating expiry of card, when only just activated!! However, still able to use connection. Weird.
