Product Description

Product Description

After a friend dies in suspicious circumstances, John Vaux finds himself torn from his quiet life and thrown into an adventure that carries him across the huge planet Pavonis in search of an ancient artifact that will change the world.

As Vaux travels tens of thousands of kilometres following clues to the location of the artifact he's pursued for a murder he didn't commit, chased by fanatics who will destroy the artifact to protect the status quo and kill anyone who gets in their way, attacked by a 'dragon', robbed, gassed, captured, freed, and shot at. He rides (and crashes) monowheels, stows away on land trains and sea trains, steals (and crashes) a dragonfly, flies aboard a personal skyhouse and sneaks in and out of a city in a meteor crater through the sewers. Twice.

5.0 out of 5 stars They dont do it like this anymore... 31 Aug 2012
This book is a fantastic, future-based Steampunk adventure. Written expertly in first person, just like the old Holmes stories, and just as compelling to read, you'll be taken on a colourful and vivid journey.

Very highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent New Sci-Fi (Don't Pass This By) 18 Aug 2012
This is something new, in a genre called 'SteamPunk'. I can't describe it any better that the one that comes with it. You may never have heard of Pete Ford before, he's new to the writing world of Sci-Fi and if you notice that he and I are 'Fords', I'm from the UK and he's from USA.

The story 'grabbed' me from the start, I couldn't put it down. The main character travels using Xeppelins, Land Trains, Hydrofoils and my favourite the Monowheel, to beat the 'baddies' to find hints and clues to an artifact which would change the world.

You can't go wrong with this at the price and hopefully you'll want more, I certainly do.
