Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

All creatives need to go to a museum now and then. It's inspiring, encouraging and refreshing. The problem motion-graphic artists face is the lack of venues where they can present their work. Pause:59 Minutes of Motion Graphics is a showcase that helps fill that void--an oasis of images designed to enlighten and motivate.

This oversized softcover, which uses time code instead of page numbers, presents some of the finest work from a global pool, 300 lavish frames that illustrate the best in contemporary video design, motion graphics and animation. From such luminary studios as The Attik and MTV and individual artists like Mike Mills and Richard Kennworthy, this collection is not to be missed. It's a shame the pictures don't move.

In fact, if there is anything to complain about, it's that there is no accompanying video, CD-ROM or DVD to properly display the stunning work in this book. Even a Web site with QuickTime clips would have allowed readers to study and admire the work as it was meant to be presented. If you create animation, plan to in the future or do anything related to video, film or motion graphics, you should read this book. Eye-opening, international and oozing with creativity, Pause :59 Minutes of Motion Graphics belongs not on your shelf but on your desk, open, accessible and well-worn. --Mike Caputo, amazon.com

2.0 out of 5 stars filled with strange graphics that is hard to bee inspired by, 1 May 2001

Bought this book to have as a resource for my broadcast graphics work but it is hard to relate to the stuff that is in there. Sure some elements of the book is nice but mostly it is not good looking grapgics but odd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent demonstration of new media graphics and media, 18 Jun 2000

This review is from: Pause (Paperback)
Excellent document of new media graphics ,music video stills and digitals artists works. Stills from videos such as Air's Sexy Boy, demonstrates that music videos now as powerful as the trailers they provide. For any developing digital artist this is a really good reference demonstrating a level they should be aimming for, and to the rest of the world great coffee table fodder.
