Paul Raspin BCom, MEc, ACA, PhD, is a senior Strategy Consultant, academic researcher and author in the field of business strategy whose interests include competitive strategy, organisational capability development, IT strategy and disruptive technologies. He works inclusively with senior executives and management teams to develop effective business strategies, resolve complex business issues, analyse business environments and develop strategic investment options using insights gained from both the strategy consulting sector and academia.
For 12 years, Paul worked for Andersen's finance, operational and strategy advisory consulting practices based out of their Sydney, Atlanta, Dallas and London offices. Paul has led numerous engagements for large organisations to develop effective business strategies and improve business performance. During this time, he was sponsored to successfully complete his Chartered Accountancy examinations and Masters of Economics degree. More recently, Paul completed a PhD in Strategic Management at Cranfield School of Management. His book, Creating Market Insight: How Firms Create Value from Market Understanding, co-authored with Dr Brian David Smith, was published by John Wiley in 2008. He is now working on a new book with Professor Cliff Bowman, his Stratevolve co-founder, which they hope to publish in 2010.
His approach to strategy consulting is pragmatic and is ultimately focused on managing the release of business benefits. Based on a view that each situation is contextually different, he supports a tailored strategy consulting approach that appreciates each client's specific circumstance and challenge. Further, he is an advocate of evidenced based management and developing thoroughly considered business cases to underpin the right strategic initiatives and programmes of change.
Paul's experience includes working in many large public corporations including Allianz, BAA, Barclays, BT, Citigroup, GM, Sainsbury's, Shell, & UBS. He has experience in working within large complex organisations and managing multiple senior stakeholders to gain consensus on strategic issues.
