5.0 out of 5 stars Paul McCartney In His Own Words 8 April 2012
By S Riaz HALL OF FAME TOP 10 REVIEWER VINE VOICE

This is a lovely compilation of interviews, many of them rare. However, the packaging is pretty dire, with no track listings to tell you what interviews are included until you play the CD's. As this annoys me (and may possibly annoy you), I include a list of what is on the CD's below, although I am sure the BBC could have managed this without too much difficulty:

CD1
Track 1: The World at One BBC radio 4 26.3.68
Track 2: Woman's Hour BBC radio 4 24.2.72
Tracks 3,4,5 & 6: BBC Archive interview (does not specify more info than that) 1.6.72
Track 7: Insight BBC radio 1 11.4.76
Tracks 8,9 & 10: Rock On with Paul Gambaccini 23.12.78
Tracks 11,12 & 13: BBC archive radio interview 18.4.82
Tracks 14 & 15: The World at One BBC radio 4 28.11.84
Tracks 16,17,18 & 19: BBC archive radio interview 15.12.85

CD2
Tracks 1,2,3 & 4: BBC archive radio interview 12.5.89
Track 5: BBC archive radio interview 15.12.92
Track 6,7,8,9,10 & 11: Parkinson meets Paul McCartney 3.12.99
Tracks 12,13,14 & 15: Paul McCartney Sold on Song BBC radio 2 17.9.05
Tracks 16,17,18,19,20 & 21: Johnny Walker's Sounds of the Seventies BBC radio 2 30.8.09

Loads of good stuff and some interviews I have not heard for many years (although I probably have them on cassettes somewhere in the attic!). Just a shame that the packaging is so shabby - the man deserves better, surely, and so do we.

Wow what a wealth of recordings! Right back from the Beatles to the present day, well 2009 and in any case. Macca and Beatles fans will love this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great sound quality and content! 25 April 2013
By Sally G - Published on Amazon.com

I am enjoying this collection of interview clips of Paul McCartney from BBC radio and tv archives (2+ hours long). Most of all, I am impressed by the sound quality. I have a lot of this kind of material and most of it is of poor sound quality. I also like that most of the segments are fairly long compared to the little sound bites you usually get. For each segment, they tell you the show it is from and the date. The questions are interesting and mostly intelligent, and Paul seems relaxed with the interviewers and forthcoming with his answers. A nice glimpse into Paul in his own words. My only comment (not really a complaint) . . . I would like to have heard more from Paul during the Beatles or early Wings periods, even repeats of some of the more well-known interviews . . . I'd love to see them do a follow-up volume with more of those earlier eras. But, all in all, I am really enjoying listening to Paul speak.

4.0 out of 5 stars One of the Masters 15 Aug 2013

It was pointed out to me by someone in my carpool, that this would only be interesting to a Beatles fan.
Truth is; if you are a fan of pop music at all, one must appreciate the monster contribution this man has made to modern day music. The interviews are interesting, and Paul actually proves to be a bit of a goofball and a very human guy.

This is just one of those instances where someone is blessed with a certain genius, and proceeds to affect the world around him.
Funny and honest.
I enjoyed it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hear Paul Tell it All 26 Aug 2013

I had heard of this 2 Disc set about 3 months ago, and took my time trying to find it. But once I had it in my collection, I was amazed at the interviews I found inside. Paul talks of forming Wings, his vast Solo Career, and other personal matters between him and the other members of that other band he was in, uh...oh, yeah, The Beatles! It's a great listen as Paul just lays it all out on the line. I don't want to spoil anything, if you want to find out, order this disc. You will not be disappointed.
