With the help of his magnificent live band (Robbie McIntosh: guitar/vocals, Hamish Stuart: guitar/vocals, Blair Cunningham: drums/percussion, Wix Wickens: keyboards/guitar/vocals and Linda McCartney: keyboards/vocals), Sir Paul pulls off yet another slice of genius.
A sample of his 1993 New World Tour, this album proves to be just as good as the 1990 predecessor 'Tripping The Live Fantastic'. Revisiting Beatles-oldies (such as "Drive My Car", "All My Loving", "We Can Work It Out" and "Lady Madonna" to name but a few), as well as some Wings stuff, and a sprinkling of 'Off The Ground' tracks, this album is great value for money, and peerless music.
I defy anyone not to enjoy it - whether you like Sir Paul or not, this album is classic live McCartney - they are all enjoying themselves, they are all great musicians, and the added bonus of a series of soundcheck tracks at the end is a treat.
Standout tracks are: "All My Loving", "Let Me Roll It", "Paperback Writer", "Live And Let Die" and "Kansas City" to name only some.
If you're a Beatles fan, a Wings fan, or just an old sentimental wanting to relive those heady days of the 60's and 70's, there's something for everyone - and Paul proves on 'Paul Is Live', that, indeed, nobody does it better!
Enjoy!
