Paul Baines is Professor of Political Marketing at Cranfield School of Management and Course Director, MSc Management. Paul was Managing Editor, Europe of the Journal of Political Marketing from 2010-2013. He is author/co-author of more than a hundred published articles, book chapters and books on marketing and political marketing issues, having published in various journals including European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Marketing Management, International Journal of Management Reviews and International Journal of Market Research. Over the last sixteen years, Paul's research has particularly focused on political marketing, public opinion and propaganda. He is the co-author of the best-selling marketing textbook (Marketing, 3e, Oxford University Press), also available in French and as an Asian edition. He is a past judge on the Market Research Society's Awards Panel and the ESOMAR Excellence best paper initiative.
Paul's marketing research consultancy experience includes research for various UK government departments including the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Home Office, and Ministry of Defence and advisory work with IBM for London Business School. He has taught extensively on Cranfield's executive education programmes for clients including Astra Zeneca, Rolls-Royce, Sport England and WABCO among others. He was a board director of the sub-regional development agency, North London Limited from November 2006-April 2008, and operates his own strategic marketing and market research consultancy, Baines Associates Limited.
