I just received this book and I am pretty pleased with my purchase. Each building block, (and they mean a "sleeve", or a "skirt", or a "neglige", etc are blocks) are given detailed attention in terms of how to take measurements, and how to create the pattern and make some variations and combinations of blocks. There are also some higher level descriptions such as fabric suggestions, finishings, and other important things to think about.

I would not call the lingerie patterns "sexy", but they are so generic that anyone with some imagination and creative "freedom" should be able to adapt them into whatever they want them to be. There are no photographs, only simple scetches of the finished garments, and as such may not be very inspiring. I plan to get a book on lingerie to keep on the side for visual inspiration myself, and look to Haggar's book for the instructions on how to make them.

This is not for beginners, even if the instructions are detailed.

This book is for the person that really knows their stuff. It is informative but not for the beginner. Also some of the styles of the garments are a bit old fashioned and not something that I would make. Would be quite a good book to get some basic tips from if you could expand and add your own designs in.
