Great information 10 April 2009
By Jane W
Format:Paperback
This book gave great information for a newly diagnosed prostate cancer patient. Easy to read with great summaries of each chapter. It mostly referred to treatments carried out in the US but there was still plenty of sensible information that relieves the stress of not knowing full facts.

Good book with lots of interesting information on various methods of treating prostate cancer which gives you information that you can discuss with your consultant. Treatments have moved on since this book was published but the basics are still very relevant for the treatments today. Difficult reading when someone you know has this cancer and likely timelines for survival - sugget you avoid this as everyone is different and treatments keep getting better and you must not judge everyone being the same and how their treatment works.

I found this book very useful. It basically covered all my options, and gave me a positive outlook. Everyone is different, so the book is not able to go into great detail about your specific case, but at least you are given enough information to know what the doctor is talking about, and what the consequences are.
